希臘神話中關於天神 伊吉潘的資料越多越好!
古代希臘有關潘神的神話比較早的描述應該是品達的皮同頌詩（Pythian Ode iii. 78），他也在諾努斯（Nonnus）的《狄奧尼西卡》Dionysiaca 14.92）中出現,不過，最主要的來源應該還是旅行家波桑尼阿斯（Pausanias）的《希臘誌》（Description of Greece 8.12.5）
到了羅馬時期，普魯塔克的《論道德》（Moralia 419 A-E）和奧維德（Ovid）的《變形記》（Metamorphoses 1.710）則是我們了解潘的重要來源。
經過漫長的中世紀，到了近代，許多有有關潘神的作品也湧現出來：
如勃朗寧夫人的《潘神之死》
