英語學習資料：內陸電視劇《甄嬛傳》風靡臺灣
A decade ago, the market there was largely occupied by local productions and several from South Korea and Japan. With good quality and strong acting, these TV series not only conquered Taiwan audiences, but also many other regions in Asia, including the Chinese mainland. But in recent years, an interesting reversal has emerged.
Probably no mainland TV drama in recent years has been so sweeping as "Legend of Zhenhuan". The show has been rebroadcast dozens of times in Taiwan, and always draws big audiences.
But "Legend of Zhenhuan" is only one of the mainland TV shows that has gained popularity in Taiwan in recent years.
"Emperor Kangxi", produced in 2001, was very well received in Taiwan. And other period dramas like "Emperor Yongzheng" and "Treading on Thin Ice" have been popular as well.
War dramas themed around the relationship between the Kuomintang and The Communist Party have also been big hits in the region.
In 2013, nearly 8,000 hours of mainland TV shows were broadcast in Taiwan. And with so many being big hits, it’s certain that the number will grow even more in 2014.
