WCW時期
1991年，Austin以"Stunning" Steve Austin的名字由Vivacious Veronica作為經紀人加入了摔角聯盟WCW，到了WCW之後Austin隨即便被捧，當時的職業摔角手Lady Blossom（他的前妻）成為了Austin在擂臺上忠實的“仆人”。次月，Austin在WCW電視冠軍腰帶爭奪賽上擊敗了當時如日中天的選手Bobby Eaton，並在1991年末順利憑借自己超人的擂臺表現能力加入Paul Heyman的“團隊”Dangerously's Dangerous Alliance “ 。但是在1992年4月27日的壹場Two out of three falls match中，Austin失去了他的WCW電視冠軍腰帶，對手是Barry Windham。
ECW時期
